The landscape of growing businesses and attracting new clients has changed dramatically over the past couple of years. A person used to be able to just network with their existing contacts or build their business on just word-of-mouth referrals. Not anymore. As a business owner, you have to have a strategy in place to develop new clients and keep it going each month. The strategy has to incorporate the internet and tools to be seen on the web.


As a marketing business that specializes in website design, SEO, Google Adwords and social media, it has become crystal clear to me what has to happen to bring in new clients. I’ve put a strategy together and my clients have reported continued successes each month.


The starting point is to make sure that you have a strong brand with your logo and website. It should express what you do, speak to your demographics and be professional and consistent with your colors, fonts, images, photography, etc.


Once you have your branding in place with your logo, photography, printed materials, website, etc., the next step is to get your SEO in place. There are numerous things to do for your Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for clients to find you while searching on the internet.

Google AdWords

After you get your SEO set up, now focus on AdWords which can be used to acquire customers through paid searches. Google AdWords can bring additional customers every day, making it worth investigating at the very least. Always assume that your competition is using Google AdWords, because they likely are.

Someone that is not familiar with Google AdWords can waste a lot of time and expenses so hiring an experienced trained marketing professional in this field is important.

Social Media

Make sure you incorporate your social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.) on your website and then post your blogs from your website on your social media sites to generate more traffic. Email marketing can also be a way to drive users to your website as well.

Nearly everyone uses social media in some way. Businesses, clients, customers, everyone has either a Facebook or a Twitter account they use, even if rarely. Using social media to get followers, likes, and favorites is a good way to generate free marketing. Share what is happening with your business and the latest news to generate interest.
